Cantine Leuci
Cantine Leuci is a family-run winery in the heart of Puglia’s Salento region with roots dating back to the early 20th century. Their story begins in 1924 when Lucio Leuci started vinifying grapes from the family’s own vineyards; the company’s name honors his dedication to the land and craft. Over the decades, the winery evolved from selling grapes to producing bottled wines that express the unique terroir of Salento, with vineyards covering roughly 30 hectares planted primarily to indigenous varieties like Negroamaro, Primitivo and Fiano.
Today the business is led by Lucio’s grandchildren, brothers Francesco and Lucio, who focus on producing high-quality wines that reflect their region’s traditions and character, using both traditional alberello (bush) and modern training methods to maximize grape quality.
In recent years Cantine Leuci has gained attention not only for native wines but also for its commitment to producing certified kosher wines, a direction sparked by a cultural encounter in 2013. Under this initiative the winery applies careful protocols and international kosher supervision to produce select wines — including Negroamaro and Primitivo — suitable for Passover and other observances, appealing to both Jewish and non-Jewish consumers who value traceability and quality. Alongside its wine production, the Leuci family also offers tastings, tours, and hospitality that highlight the vineyard’s heritage and the broader enological traditions of Puglia, blending centuries-old practices with contemporary excellence.
